Also he didn't need to die. And we all knew from the first book the minister was evil right? Like they weren't subtle about illusions and mentioning he was a waterrunner so it didn't feel like a huge surprise. (though the fact it took her so long to see through his illusion is concerning for someone who claims to be sooo in love with the man he was impersonating. Title:  Empire of Storms (ToG 5) Author: SJM Publisher: Bloomsbury Year Published: 2016 Started: Feb 15  2022  Finished: Feb 20 2022 Review: I have thoughts...... it was a lot better than I was expecting but I have a feeling now this next book is going to put me to sleep I was not expecting to love Lorcan's arc, he was a raging bastard in the last 2 books  I know it's been a thing for 5 books now but Aelin's plans continually happening off page is starting to wear thin in some ways I do still love Manon and how she was brought into the main group finally. (felt like it was close in the prior book but still was nice to see it happen) Epiphanies/quotes/ Things to remember: - "Some thought they could break him .... Not one of them had succeeded." This thought alone is what doomed him  - "There was no such thing as a better world—no such thing as a happy end. Because there were no endings."

 Title:  House of Sky and Breath Author: SJM Publisher: Bloomsbury Year Published: Started: Feb 15 2022 Finished:Feb 15 2022 Review: I have thoughts. I did not like the ending but not for the reasons people online have been complaining about but I'll hold off on that for now.... Also it kind of felt terrible but I thought until they had made it to the throne room that Hunt had realized Shahar had been using him that whole time just like everyone else had been but based off his reaction to the wings I'm guessing no. Also we still don't know who his father is....... Epiphanies/quotes/ Things to remember: - "No one had said those words to Hunt in two centuries.... The last person had been his mother, a few weeks before her death."

   Title:  Queen of Shadows (TOG 4) Author: SJM Publisher: Bloomsbury Year Published: 2015 Started: Jan 21  2022  Finished: Feb 6 2022 Review: I have thoughts......  First of all I love Manon and her arc, I do not love what feels like the character assassination that happened with Aelin and Chaol.  I'm glad she rescued Aedion I just wish they had talked before Rowan showed up. Maybe I'm slow but I didn't pick up on this obsession she had with him in the last book. I got they were bonded but they seemed incapable of keeping their hands off each other which wasn't the vibe I'd gotten from the last book to be honest. I know they end up married and there is this whole thing between them but I just don't totally get the character swap On another note I don't like the subtle villain swap, I'd have been happier if with the end of this book they were just facing Maeve, I get that resolving the witches story wasn't possible but to make the duke the ultimat...

 Title:  House of Earth and Blood (Crescent City)  Author: SJM Publisher: Bloomsbury Year Published: 2020 Started: Jan 20 2022  Finished: Jan 27 2022 Review: note: I tried to read this back when it came out and I couldn't do it, it took tumblr telling me 2 things: 1. Give it till CH5 2. It helps to remember that it's basically Zootopia for supes Now onto my review:  -finally no more fucking "vulgar gesture" people just flip them off, I'm glad they didn't drag out the reveal of who her dad was, that would have been annoying.  -the world building/info dump at the start was clunky at times but I have to feel like everything mentioned will be important eventually in the series - we all know there is no way hunt is endgame right? It's like she cloned Rhys and Cass into one, I can't see it being end game as much as I wish.
