Review:
It really felt like there was no conflict and little love tbh. Maybe since this is the 3rd book in a triliogy the first 2 give these 2 back stories? A lot of the story is driven by telling us about the encounters they had as children that drove her dislike for him. (Little is shown in present day to reflect that with the exception of the duel subplot)
Also I'm not sure I believe that a man would so willingly accept a child that is dumped upon him even today but especially not back then.
Another thing I'm not a fan of was how neatly her "father" was willing to accept her, it just feels like social mores wouldn't have really allowed for that and everyone around her is so nonchalant about all of it.
Plus as much as I needed a palette cleanser from some of the other things I've been reading lately, this almost felt like I went too far in the other direction.
Epiphanies/quotes/ Things to remember: None, it felt like a very quick fluff read, that I'm not sure I'll remember in a few week. (Nothing bad about it I just don't feel it was memorable)
